The
Alliance Française in world terms
Ever
since 1883, on all five continents, the Alliance Française network has woven
the bonds of friendship with 135 countries, and today welcomes more than half a
million students to its 850 schools of French language and civilization.
The
Alliance Française network is the most significant cultural, educational and
linguistic network in the world.
The
Alliance Française charter defines the quality of its teaching of French in
these terms: teaching methods and education, a Literature and Resource Centre,
customer relations, human resources, accounting and financial management,
premises, and the management of cultural activities and governance.
The
Alliances (813 Alliances across 136 countries) all share the same democratic
values, respect for others and humanitarianism.
The
Alliances Françaises in France are dedicated to welcoming non-French-speaking
foreigners who are staying in France, and who wish to take French courses so as
to gain access to the French way of life.
