DELF / DALF

Alliance Française Annecy is approved by the French Ministry of Education as a center for exams of French as a Foreign Language. DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française) and DALF (Diplôme approfondi de langue française) prove the French-language skills of non-French candidates. They are valid all your life.

What does DELF/DALF mean?
 

DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française) and DALF (Diplôme approfondi en langue française) are delivered by the French Ministry of Education and prove your dominion of the French language. These diplomas are valid with no time limit.
You chose the level you wish to take:

  • DELF: A1, A2, B1, B2
  • DALF: C1, C2.

Registration DELF/DALF

To get registered you need to:
  • send us per email the registration form on the right side, duly filled in and signed, together with your proof of wire transfer and a scan of your ID
  • or bring the complete file to the reception desk of the Alliance Française Annecy if you prefer paying with cheque, cash or credit card


 

DELF/DALF, who is it for?

These diplomas are meant for:
- non-French candidates
candidates with no French diploma of secondary or higher education

The diploma is useful for the following reasons: 
  • administrative
    You can certify your level of French by the "Préfecture".
    For example,
    DELF A2 is required to apply for residence permit and DELF B1 to apply for French nationality
  • academic
    Usually, DELF B2 is requested for getting registered to universities, colleges, business schools, etc.
  • professional
    Your employer can ask you to present an objective information concerning your level of French.

The dates of tests mentioned in the document above are meant for the written part of the exam. An invitation indicating the date of your oral exam will be sent to you per email 10 days before the exam. The oral exam may not take place the same day as the written exam.
